South Dakota Mines will play No. 6 Western Colorado at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at Mojo Field at Mountaineer Bowl in Gunnison, according to South Dakota Mines Athletics. The Hardrockers are on the road for the matchup, the athletics department said.
South Dakota Mines enters the game 5-3 overall and 3-3 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference after a 17-10 road loss to Colorado School of Mines, according to the announcement. Western Colorado is 8-0 overall and 6-0 in conference play, and beat Black Hills State 42-10 in Spearfish last week, the department said.
Western Colorado leads the all-time series 6-3 and has won the last three meetings, according to South Dakota Mines Athletics. The Hardrockers are 2-2 in games at Gunnison; their most recent win there was a 38-10 result on Oct. 8, 2022, the announcement said.
The athletics department said the game will have livestream and live-stat coverage. South Dakota Mines is scheduled to return home Nov. 7 to play No. 4 CSU Pueblo at 2 p.m. for Senior Day, then close the regular season at Chadron State on Nov. 14 at 1 p.m., according to the announcement.
